Here's a simple guide to making pasta from scratch or using store-bought noodles 🍝:
🧂 Ingredients (for basic pasta dough)
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- A pinch of salt
- Optional: 1 tbsp olive oil
🥣 Making Fresh Pasta Dough (Optional)
- Form a mound of flour on a clean surface and make a well in the center.
- Crack eggs into the well, add salt and olive oil.
- Mix gradually, pulling flour into the eggs with a fork.
- Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Wrap and rest the dough for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Roll out and cut into desired shapes (spaghetti, fettuccine, etc.).
🍳 Cooking Pasta (Fresh or Store-Bought)
- Boil water in a large pot (add salt generously).
- Add pasta and stir to prevent sticking.
- Fresh pasta: 2–4 minutes
- Dried pasta: 8–12 minutes (check package)
- Taste test for doneness (al dente = firm to the bite).
- Drain pasta, reserving some water for sauce if needed.
🍅 Add Sauce & Serve
- Toss with your favorite sauce: tomato, pesto, Alfredo, garlic & olive oil.
- Garnish with cheese, herbs, or chili flakes.
